PIETA

I have been a fan of PIETA ever since it aired last October. I would say that ABS-CBN has been giving us real good shows in the afternoon. It started out with PRINSESA NG BANYERA (though I wish it aired longer), LIGAW NA BULAKLAK (this one I did not really like but, it was okay) and now PIETA. It is refreshing to see the other side of Cherie Gil who always played a villain in most of her previous shows. She is one of the best actresses in the industry and PIETA just proved how versatile she really is. Ryan Agoncillo is the greatest revelation here. I must admit, when I first heard that he will be playing the lead in this show I was very negative about it. I could not imagine him playing a bad boy because of his boyish face. Then again, after watching him for several months now, I proved to be wrong. PIETA produced a very good actor out of Ryan Agoncillo and I salute the Directors of the show. All of the supporting casts are great although it is noticeable that some of them are there for no reason at all. I guess it is just to provide more cast and more scenes for the show. Lyka Ugarte whom I first watched in PRINSESA NG BANYERA has been proving to be a very good villain. I knew that she was an actress in 80's but was gone for a long time. I loved her in Banyera but I loved her more here in PIETA. I hope ABS will soon cast her in one of their Prime Time shows. Krista Ranillo is also great though I must admit I do not feel the chemistry between Ryan and her. Maybe because I love the Ryan and Judy Ann tandem that I expected Ryan to be teamed with someone close enough to Judy Ann. The intro of Nikki Gil gave me that. I expected a softer leading actress for Ryan. Then again, what do I really know. I am just sharing my opinion based on what I have seen and what I feel whenever I watch the show. I know that ABS will soon cast Krista in a role that would totally suit her. John Regala has been a good actor but I find his acting in PIETA too much. I do not know if this is how the Director's of the show wants him to project his role but, I find him over acting sometimes. DJ Durano comes out better in his scenes, his acting for me is just right. I love the kid Jairus, he is so adorable in all of his scenes. He will grow up to be a real good actor. I wish they aired this show on Prime Time but then I would not have anything nice to watch in the after. Its just that the show is too good to be shown in the afternoon.

Thank you ABS-CBN for providing us with top quality shows. I am also an avid fan of TAYONG DALAWA and wow that show is great and the cast is unbelievable. To place all of these top rated actors and actresses together in one show is truly remarkable. I hope we could expect more of this from ABS-CBN Management. MAY BUKAS PA is also great. I was not fond of EVA FONDA, it is one of your worst shows, I am sorry to be that frank. Kristin Reyes is not yet capable of leading a show and the supporting cast did not help at all. Maricel Soriano starring for FLORINDA again is another thumbs up for ABS-CBN. I can't wait to see a soap with Lorna Tolentino in it, is there one coming up? Is there also a chance that we can see the MEGA STAR in a Prime Time soap? A Sharon-Gabby soap opera or movie from Star Cinema would be wonderful.
